BagelFest West Exhibitor Spotlight: Daniel’s Bagels

When Daniel Messinger began baking bagels in his parents’ kitchen during the pandemic, he never imagined his project would become a beloved fixture in Palms. Now, a year and a half after opening his brick-and-mortar shop, Daniel’s Bagels has made its mark as one of LA’s top bagel destinations, recently recognized by both Eater and The Infatuation.

What sets Daniel’s Bagels apart? Simplicity and a touch of innovation. In a city dominated by elaborate, open-faced sandwiches, Daniel offers a menu that’s refreshingly straightforward but remarkably delicious: classic bagels, a spread of cream cheeses, and the occasional biali. The most distinctive twist? A hint of sweetness, coming from maple syrup used in place of traditional barley malt. This choice was born out of necessity—barley malt isn’t a standard kitchen staple—yet it’s now become part of the bakery’s unique identity.

As Daniel set his sights on Bagel Fest West, he was hopeful to win even more fans over. One thing’s certain: his dedication to quality, creativity, and community shines through every batch.
