Boichik Bagels, hailed by The New York Times as home of the best bagels in the country, has captured attention not only in its birthplace of Berkeley, California, but now in Los Angeles as well. Since the 2021 recognition, Boichik has set ambitious expansion plans, with LA serving as the first major market test beyond the Bay Area.
Despite expectations that LA locations would import bagels from the massive 18,000 square foot “bagel robot” factory in Berkeley, the Los Feliz shop stands out by making bagels fresh on site. This approach ensures authenticity and quality, much to the delight of local fans.
Adapting to local tastes, Boichik’s LA menu features open-faced sandwiches, a staple in Angeleno bagel culture. This blend of tradition and regional inspiration shows Boichik’s commitment to integrating with its new community while maintaining the signature bagel quality that earned national acclaim.
Maintaining high standards, the Los Feliz shop has proven itself a worthy outpost, earning a score of 9 out of 10 for its fresh, delicious offerings—solidifying Boichik Bagel’s reputation as a trailblazer on the West Coast.
